Retire permanently
This option will remove the item from the catalog completely. It will remain in the database, which means the SKU cannot be used again. As an alternative, consider changing the item's Availability to "Unavailable".
Merge with another item
This will open a new dialog for you to choose the item you want to merge into this one. That item will be deleted, and all references to that item in transactions will be changed to the current item.
Create a new item from this item
This will "clone" the current item, which can save a lot of time.
The first thing you will need to do is to give the new item a unique SKU. But be sure to update images, pricing, and cellar status as well.
