What is cellar status

Cellar status is a feature that allows you to document every step of the winemaking process, from creating a product to indicating when it will be ready for consumption. With cellar status, you can add detailed notes about each stage of production before the wine is even bottled, and make the product unavailable until it is ready for sale. By providing this level of transparency, you can help your customers better understand and appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into each bottle of wine.

Enable cellar status

  1. Log in to your CompleteDTC account.
  2. Go to the settings icon in the top right and under "Configuration", choose "Settings".
  3. Within the "Marketing" section, choose "Cellar".
  4. Toggle the "Enable Cellar Status" tracking to on.
  5. Using the next two settings, decide if you would like to show the cellar status to club members and if you want the cellar status notes to show up in the webstore.

Enable cellar status for specific item

Once cellar status has been turned on for the account as a whole, you can decide which wine products have a cellar status. This feature is only available for wine items.

  1. Go to "Tools" in the top navigation and choose "Catalog".
  2. Open the catalog item for which you need to turn on cellar status.
  3. Make sure this is a wine product.
  4. Go to the marketing tab.
  5. On the third line under the marketing section, toggle on "show wine in cellar".
  6. This will add a new tab to the product details, called "Cellar status".

Using cellar status

Cellar status is now set up and ready to be used.

Step 1: Set the information that will stay constant (you can update it later, if necessary).

Glass type
Select which glass consumers should ideally be using to drink this bottle.

Temperature
The ideal temperature the wine should be when it is consumed. Choose from chilled, cool, cellar temperature, or room temperature.

Open
How long the bottle should be open for prior to consumption.  You can also toggle on "Decant" if the wine is best when poured through a decanter.

Food pairing suggestions
Add in any food recommendations that pair well with this wine.

Step 2: Add a note(s)

  1. To add a new entry in the cellar status tab, click the "+" next to "Note".
  2. Choose the product status.
  3. Enter the date (in the yyyy-mm-dd format) on which you want to create the note, or backdate it if needed.
  4. Select the team members who wrote the note.
  5. Check the "publish" box if you want to publish immediately after saving. It won't publish until you click "save note".
  6. Add any necessary information into the textbox.
  7. You can always edit or unpublished an entry later on, even if they have been published.
